Tryouts

The try-outs are a multiple day process.  We do our best to provide the opportunity for each player to showcase their skills.  Each year we attempt to improve the process.  Whatever level your son is chosen for in no way limits his future success in baseball.  Players develop at different rates and sometimes the opportunity to play at the "A" level will help more than getting less opportunity at the "AAA" level.  No players are pre-chosen to be on any team.  Coaches own sons must make the team in order to be chosen.  As with any tryout process, there will be people disappointed as a limited number of people can make each team.  We do provide opportunity for as many young men to play as we physically can.  I encourage each player to push themself at which ever level they are at to continually improve.  Each year many new players make teams as well as move up and down levels.  Our goal is to place players at the level that will best benefit them and thus continue their improvement.

Some notes:

• 2012 tryout committee will be formed to review any possible adjustments in July.
• There is a non-refundable try-out fee.  This covers the cost of judges and supplies.
• Please have your son there 30 minutes prior to your age group trying out to get ready.
• We STRONGLY RECCOMEND THAT YOU TRY-OUT WITH YOUR GRADE IN SCHOOL.
• No parents are allowed inside the fenced area at Hamlet.
• We allow pre-approved medical waivers, we are attempting to be accommodating and consider other requests; these must be approved prior to try-outs; if you have a need please contact Jeff Melson our traveling director for information.
• If you are unable to attend the scheduled date for your age, but could attend the other day, please contact Jeff Melson our traveling director and make him aware of this.
• Be sure you are trying out for the correct age, if you tryout at an older age and do not get picked, you will not be able to move back down unless an "A" team needs players.
